How BTC 15-minute markets work

A plain-English guide to 15-minute Bitcoin markets and how to read one on StrikeCall.

What is a 15-minute Bitcoin market?

It asks one question: when the 15 minutes end, will Bitcoin be above or below a set price, called the strike? On prediction-market exchanges such as Kalshi, a new window opens every 15 minutes, at :00, :15, :30 and :45.

How does a window settle?

Each exchange settles with its own reference Bitcoin price, measured around the close. The exact source and method are written in each market's rules. Always read them on the exchange before you trade.

What do the YES and NO prices mean?

They trade between 1¢ and 99¢. A YES at 80¢ pays $1 if the window closes above the strike, so the price shows roughly how likely the market thinks that is. Prices move fast in the last minutes.
